I WEAR A Size 8, I Am NOT A Size 8

Actually I also wear a size 10 and 12 too. It depends on where I’m shopping. Orrrrrr how much I ate the day before.

Double LOLs.

So when I think about the term “body image” I sorta cringe.

Cringe for every girl who’s stood in front of the mirror and picked herself apart, cringed for every girl who’s believed she isn’t good enough because her jeans don’t fit like they once did. Bingo wings, cellulite on the thighs, muffin top, eyebrows that aren’t thick enough, bushy enough, not Kardashian enough.

We’ve all been there amiright??? Hell sometimes I’m still there.

So when presented with the opportunity to once again collaborate with Sita from Precious S2 Photography I was like “Hells to the yeah girlfriend! Let’s do this!”

Putting down my beautiful body, the same one that carries me through my workouts and lays home to my busy little mind deserves better.

You deserve to feel all glam and shit and have fun proudly showing off exactly what it is that you love to do.

Because here’s the thing dolls…

You may WEAR a clothing size but you are NOT a clothing size. Na uh.

You are made up of all the things that make you froth at the mouth, fill that tummy of yours with butterflies and do crazy shit like skinny dip in a cold river after a night out. You are made up of the dreams you chase with the people you adore and the activities that fill your day. Hey, you’re even made up of those cheesy memes you post up on Insta because hell to the o they meant enough to you in the first place to wanna share them!

Know what I’m saying?

I am Emma.

I WEAR a size 8, I am NOT a size 8.

  3. I am so glad I came across this post! Over the last few months in particular, I’ve been having constant freak outs about me putting on weight and having my “worst” fear come to life: going up a dress size. Yet really I should just enjoy life, stay active and healthy because it’s good for me and it makes me FEEL good rather than because it’s a means to being a certain size.

And I guess at the end of the day, we shouldn’t define ourselves nor let others define us by what size WE WEAR. Thank you for this. 🙂

You’re so very welcome! I can totally relate to that fear of having to go up a dress size and yet when we really think about it, are we happy, healthy, strong? These are the things that truly matter, we just need a little reminder sometimes x
